Storage strategies must be tailored to the volume of the harvest and the operational scale of the facility:

  • Small-Scale / Household Level: Handles volumes under 2 metric tons. Recommended options include hermetic storage bags (such as PICSโ„ข, ZeroFlyยฎ Hermetic, or plastic-lined jute bags) and airtight rigid containers like metal or plastic drums.
  • Medium-Scale Level: Manages volumes from 2 to 100 metric tons. This scale utilizes regional stores, dedicated grain warehouses, or mid-sized metal silos.
  • Large-Scale Level: Accommodates hundreds of tons of bulk grain. This level requires commercial warehouse complexes or automated silo systems, such as Improved Inert Atmosphere Silos (IIAS).
